While the UK endures a cold and dark season, this beautiful paradise island enjoys balmy temperatures of 30°C in February.

Cape Verde offers a direct connection from the UK and offers the perfect solution for winter sun seekers.

This island nation is a blend of African, Portuguese, and Brazilian cultures, and the climate is pleasantly warm at 24 °C to 30 °C throughout the year.

Although Cape Verde is a destination that can be visited all year round, it is important to note that the rainy season lasts from July to October.

The country's famous white sand beaches are perfect for relaxing by the sea, while its rugged mountainous interior attracts adventurous travelers.

With 10 islands to explore, Cape Verde offers something new with every visit, from idyllic coastlines to awe-inspiring landscapes, making it an explorer's paradise.

Cape Verde's islands are blessed with year-round sunshine and are the perfect getaway for those looking to escape the cold.

Each island has its own charm and offers a variety of experiences, including pristine beaches with soft white sand and crystal clear turquoise waters.

The islands are also home to majestic mountain ranges and volcanoes, offering impressive walking trails for hiking enthusiasts. Santo Antin, Sant Nicolau and Fogo are particularly popular for walking.

Notable spots include Santa Maria Beach and Ponta Preta in Sal, Praia de Chavez in Boa Vista, and Laguna Beach in Sao Vicente.

These areas are known for their beautiful waters and attract wildlife watchers who may spot whales, dolphins, and turtles.

TripAdvisor reviewers emphasize the diversity across the islands and recommend exploring as much of the island as possible.

Mr Lashloo said: “With 10 islands to explore, you don't have to limit yourself to Sal Island. If you can travel a little, you'll be amazed at the diversity.”

Meanwhile, Hairybear007 commented: “The monkeys have grown more, become busier, and have more things to do. Boa Vista is much quieter and less developed. We loved the Boa Vista palace.” (Schick)
