The preliminary survey of Air Busan Airbus A321 Fire in Gimhae did not find any evidence of dangerous items mounted on Twinjet.
However, the Ministry of Transportation, which conducted the first joint terrorist measure survey with related organizations on January 29, stated that if an accident investigator found suspicious things, further investigations would be conducted.
According to the ministry, the A321 fuselage was destroyed by the fire on January 28, but the wings and engines were not damaged.
In addition to all 169 passengers, six crew members and one mechanic fled the fire. One of the passengers is hospitalized, and 10 people are housed in the hotel.
AIR BUSAN has organized a special flight to transport passengers to Hong Kong, the original destination of the jet who was preparing for the departure before the accident.
The Minister of Transport, Park Sang Woo, has ordered a “quick evaluation” on the scope of damage and rescue activities.
He acknowledges that the accident occurred just a month after the deadly Jeju Airlines CRASH drop.
“I will do my best to prevent recurrence through a thorough investigation of the cause and provide the victims with support and compensation,” he said.
There is no confirmation of the cause of the fire. It initially influenced the rear torso and promoted evacuation of passengers through emergency slides.
The ministry says the fire occurred at 22:15 about 20 minutes after the departure time.
AIR BUSAN has apologized to customers about inconvenience and reports that the emergency team has contacted passengers affected.
