If you're still holding on to your New Year's resolutions, congratulations! We've already made it through the second Friday of January, also known as No Smoking Day. And for those who have vowed to run a marathon in 2025, there's still plenty of time to choose one that's as picturesque as it is painful. The editors of Forbes Travel Guide have compiled a list of amazing races around the world, with breathtaking views along challenging routes. Ian Schrager is ready to revolutionize the hotel industry again

After co-founding the legendary discotheque Studio 54, Ian Schrager helped create the boutique hotel concept when he opened Morgan's in New York in 1984. Mr. Schrager revolutionized hospitality at other luxury hotels, including the Royalton in New York and the Delano in South Beach, before launching the Marriott and Edition hotel chains. Mr. Schrager, 78, who virtually invented the velvet rope monopoly, is now focused on making luxury more inclusive with his public brand hotels. “This is probably the most important idea I've ever had,” Schrager told Forbes.com. “Making luxury available to everyone is something of a modern democratic ideal. Luxury is no longer about material things, but about being able to enjoy, relax and feel secure. It’s a feeling.”

Each January, the Henley Passport Index ranks all 199 of the world's most powerful passports based on the number of global travel destinations they provide visa-free access to. This year, Singapore regained the top spot as the world's most powerful passport with visa-free access to 195 of the 227 global destinations on the list. Japan ranks second with access to 193 countries, with six countries tied for third place: France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Finland, and South Korea, offering access to 192 countries . The US has fallen to 9th place in the world with visa-free access to 186 countries.
