Canada Charter Career Nolinor Aviation is looking at the future by securing optional pilot cargo aircraft productions developed by Southern California's emerging companies Natilus.
Norinol, based in Mirabel, stated on February 4 that there was an agreement with Naturalus, including the slot of the “multiple” blend wing body (BWB) freight aircraft called Kona.
“The KONA platform under development of NATILUS is designed to work on an unpaved runway,” says Nolinor.
Companies have not specified financial conditions, and if NATILUS clears multiple development and authentication hurdles and introduced KONA to the market, the number of aircraft to be delivered is not disclosed.
Marco Prud Hom, president of Norinol, said his team visited Natillas in San Diego last year and was impressed by the fact that “a revolutionary approach to aircraft design and the unique issues in the cargo industry. I received it. ”
“The function of Kona's gravel runway is perfect for our business, and we want to take advantage of that possibility,” he says.
This transaction is currently running a Nolinor long-term fleet strategy because it operates the Boeing 737-200, -300, and -400 fleets within the age of 35 to 50.
Charter operators intend to continue to fly to the Far North Canadian community, far away from 737 for many years. However, it is necessary to replace the narrow body gets that are often used in the end.
KONA has a target payload of 3,800kg (8,378LB) and a range of 900 nm. In May, the startup revealed that in partnership with the advanced promotion developer Zeroavia, the KONA platform provided optional hydrogen promotion.
The company is aiming to launch the first delivery to customers in 2028, but is working to fly full -fledged Kona prototypes within the next two years.
Startups have even greater ambitions. This is also because we have developed a 200 -seater BWB platform called Horizo N, which believes to confuse the rule of tube and wing for decades.
