She shared that if you “have a pillowcase”, it means you're all good because “the pillow fly for free”. So, if you were in this situation with overweight luggage, what exactly should you do with your pillowcase?
Put the softest of your luggage in a pillowcase and pack it. That way you'll be comfortable resting your head. “I'll go ahead and wear some extra clothes, put my hoodie and sweatpants in this pillowcase, which will eliminate the extra weight,” she boasted.
It is worth noting that this hack only works on certain airlines. According to the mattress clarity: “Some airlines allow you to bring pillows to your plane for free, while others charge a fee for this additional luggage add-on.”
Someone said, “This only works in the US,” but others found a sleazy way to do something similar. On Reddit, someone was asking about a pillowcase hack and asking if it was “still working.”

Someone responded: “This sounds like a good idea and it's less risky.” Another shared the story that they were “prepared to pay £50” as they had crossbody bags that wouldn't fit in their rucksacks when a kind stranger helped them. “She secretly stuffed my handbag into a half-empty tax-free bag after I took out my passport, wallet and phone. (The people at the boarding gate are too busy to notice). I went back and said, , told the original board pass checker that I combined the two as requested (in fact, she didn't seem to mind as if she had forgotten).
