Centered around the preservation of this environmentally focused site, Serenity Hills on the KZN South Coast welcomed two new residents on Tuesday 14 January 2025. A male Gray Duiker and a female Bushbuck. Released in collaboration with FreeMe Wildlife, the animals will enjoy a new home that combines coastal forest, hills, rocky outcrops, grasslands and plantations along the Vung River.
Serenity Hills Estate Manager Line Ferguson said the buck was rescued and rehabilitated by Freemy Wildlife in September 2024, but needed a safe new home. “About 70 hectares of this 120 hectare coastal property is a pristine conservation area, making it an ideal location for this deer release.
We have plans to introduce more wildlife here in the coming months to help maintain the genetic diversity essential to ecosystem health. ” To commemorate the groundbreaking introduction of antelope at Serenity Hills, local artist Keith Gate-Smith of K. Creative Arts Studio created 21 wire and cable snares that he personally collected on his resident farm. Display the intricate wire snare antelope artwork you created. .
Visitors to the Serenity Hills Show House can admire this stunning piece of work and observe the recent residents of this environmentally focused property. With a focus on sustainable living, community engagement and quality service, Serenity Hills is truly setting a new standard for coastal living on the KZN South Coast.
