Qantas has rejoined the Asia Pacific Airlines Association (AAPA) after leaving the group some 15 years ago.
AAPA announced on January 20 that membership for Australian airlines is effective immediately. Qantas is the association's 17th member and the first in the Australia/New Zealand region in recent years.
Qantas' return follows AAPA's addition of low-cost carrier Lion Air Group in November 2024, and recent additions of Air India and Vietnam Airlines.

Qantas was a member of AAPA for more than 40 years, but left in 2010. At the time, Qantas said it had significantly increased its interest in the wider Asia-Pacific region beyond its AAPA focus.
