It looks like the kids are back at school, but the February half term is just around the corner.

For those planning a getaway over the holidays, certain holiday parks are popular spots for families and couples alike.

Just 90 minutes' drive from Manchester, Fallborough Holiday Park is located on the shores of picturesque Lake Windermere and is the ideal destination for travelers with young people.

Billed as 'the perfect retreat for families and couples looking for a combination of relaxation and adventure', the park is set in the awe-inspiring landscape of the Lake District National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty.

Enjoy direct access to the lakefront and enjoy the many activities it offers.

The Parkdean Resorts park has caravans and lodges, as well as hot tubs and pet-friendly accommodation options, Manchester Evening News reports.

Facilities include an outdoor children's play area, multi-purpose games area and a games center for the little ones.

As well as a cafe and shop, the property also has its own bar and restaurant, The Willow.

The park occasionally hosts live entertainment and music, and an enhanced program runs during school holidays.

Fallborough is one of 23 parks in Parkdean to win the 2024 TripAdvisor Travelers' Choice Award, boasting an impressive overall rating of 4.5/5 on the website.

One satisfied holidaymaker who braved last month's bad weather and still earned a 5-star rating said: “Despite the weather forecast we had a wonderful week here. The staff were very friendly and… “They were very helpful. The park was well maintained and there was convenient parking.”

They went on to praise its location, adding: “Great location for exploring Bowness and Windermere, but also convenient to other parts of the Lake District.”

Another visitor who enjoyed their stay last summer and left a 5-star review echoed this positive sentiment, saying: . ”

They went on to praise the tranquility and amenities of the location, saying, “The location is just perfect and quiet, and every cabin/lodge is less than a minute's walk from the lake. There is a dog play area along the lake. It's secured. There's also a small park next door for children.” It's a beautiful looking restaurant called The Willow. ”
