Johannesburg has launched a new tourist ambassador program and has developed 227 trained ambassadors at major tourist hot spots. This initiative aims to enhance visitors' safety, provide seamless information services, and improve the entire tourism experience. After several months preparing, including the strict training program led by the city's Public Safety Bureau, the ambassador is stationed in major attractions to provide first aid, fire prevention, and outstanding services. This initiative emphasizes cities commitments to establish a position as a destination for major city sightseeing.
In addition to improving visitor experience, the program has functioned as a youth employment initiative, creates employment, and hides unemployed young people. Joburg Tourism CEO's THANDUBUHLE MGUDLWA emphasized that previous participants have succeeded in supporting a full -time role in the tourist sector. By dealing with issues such as safety, navigation, and accessibility, this program will strengthen Johannesburg's appeal and contribute to long -term labor development. The joint approach between the public and the private sector has a global set of city tourist initiative benchmarks, which position Johannesburg as an increasingly attractive destination for international travelers.
