The east coast's leisure carrier Jetblue Airways is one of the most hindered US Aviation, which is the most hindered by Pratt & Whitney's Gear (GTF) engine recall, but the company's executives worsen before the grounds of related aircraft become better. We are warning.

URSULA HURLEY, Jetblue's highest financial manager, is a “peak AOG” within the following “1-2 years” in the Jetblue's basis on January 28, based in New York. He said he was expecting an aircraft).

Jetblue says that it has used a small body air bus jet with an average of 11, including A321NEOS and A220-300S, which match the engine inspection and repair through 2024.

Harley expects the average number of jet aircraft to rise from the middle of teens this year this year. The outlook for 2026 is not so clear.

“There are many inputs that can have a significant impact on the number of aircraft on the ground. There are everything from platform and wheelney supply chains to shop capacity,” Harley says. “So it keeps it quite fluid. But next year or two years, we believe we will approach its peak. ”

The ground aircraft “has a significant impact on jet blue financial performance.”

“In 2024, we believe it had a direct adverse effect on the 2.5 -point operation margin,” said Johanna Gerati, the highest executive officer. “It is estimated that the direct impact will increase to 3 points in 2025 because it is expected to increase AOG.”

Currently, Jetblue has 14 aircraft listed as “stored.” In other words, according to the air analysis company Cirium, it can be used for more than 30 days. This includes nine A321NEOS and five A220.

Aircraft may be stored for other reasons, but most of the Jetblue's grounded air bus jet may not be used to fix the P & W engines.

P & W has completed the inspection, hindering the network, capacity plans, and fleet strategies of A320NEO, A220, EMBRAER E190-E2 operators, hundreds of air bus jets for months around the world. No.

CIRIUM FLEETS data indicates that A320NEOS and A321NEOS with about 3,100 PW1100G are running globally, but about 650 of the latest generation of air bus narrow are stored.

On the other hand, A220 with about 300 PW1500G is used, and nearly 100 idling is idled.

The E190-E2-family jet equipped with a PW1900G engine is also affected by the recall of P & W. About 120 of these jets are used on the ground compared to about 40 people.

Pratt & WHITNEY agrees with financial compensation packages with some airlines affected by GTF grounds, such as US disco counter spirit airlines and Canadian leisure carriers AIR Transat, but still in Jetblue. No.

“It takes a while to negotiate a reconciliation,” says Harley. “We want to be calm and acceptable. There is no timing. That is the progress.”

Jetblue has recorded a modest profit of $ 17 million in the fourth quarter compared to the last three months of $ 67 million in 2023. In 2025, it will be measured with available seat miles and will be almost flat.
