There are amazing islands in southern Europe that are perfect for Brits to visit, as beautiful as the Maldives but much closer to home.
A woman shared a video clip on TikTok of the stunning blue ocean that surrounds the island.
In a TikTok focused on the Greek island of Corfu, she called the region “underrated.”
The woman, who goes by the name @arianatans on TikTok, said the island is “the most underrated island in Greece, like the Maldives, where the sea is much cheaper.”
Commenters were quick to share her awe for the island.
One of the letters read, “I can't believe an ocean like this exists.''
Another added: “Really lovely place!” I used to wake up with the sun and swim for hours along the coastline…it was perfect. ”
Corfu has a variety of stunning beaches and can be reached in just over three hours by plane from the UK. Among them is Paleokastritsa Beach.
Surrounded by lush greenery and rocky cliffs, Paleokastritsa Beach is known for its crystal clear waters, white sand and stunning natural beauty.
This beach is also great for a variety of water sports and is popular among thrill seekers.
Travelers wrote the following reviews on TripAdvisor: “Pure heaven on earth. It's so good for your soul. You have to come and spend some time here.”
“Your soul will thank you later. The views are spectacular and there are a cozy bar or two around the beach.”
Another great beach is Canal D'Amour. It is home to a series of unique rocks that form bay pools perfect for swimming. Here you can climb the cliffs and admire the beautiful landscape and amazing views of the Ionian Sea.
If you're looking for adventure, you can snorkel in the shallow waters and see a wide variety of marine life.
Travelers say this on TripAdvisor: “I highly recommend this visit to everyone, it truly is a natural wonder.
“The canal itself is beautiful for swimming, but the rock formations are also great for walking.
“But for us, the best beach was to the right of the beach bar. There was almost no one in the morning. The view was amazing and the beach is like paradise!”
