A cooperation agreement between Icelandair and U.S. low-cost airline Southwest Airlines is set to expand to additional transit points beyond the original proposal in Baltimore.
The two airlines reached a tentative strategic partnership agreement last year, and both sides have now finalized the new agreement.
Icelandair says it will add connections in Nashville and Denver, as well as Baltimore-Washington.
The partnership with Baltimore will take effect in February.
“(This) will allow customers to easily connect between the networks of both airlines,” Icelandair said, adding that it will be Southwest Airlines' first airline partner.
Icelandair added that the expansion to Nashville and Denver will allow passengers to access both airlines' networks via three connecting airports, “opening up new and exciting possibilities.” .
