    FEDHASA says SA Tourism Board's new COO will drive sector growth

    Johannesburg, 8 January 2025 – The appointment of industry veteran Darryl Erasmus as the new Chief Operating Officer of South African Tourism marks a positive step towards accelerating tourism growth and job creation. said the Federal Hospitality Association of South Africa (FEDHASA).

    FEDHASA National Chair Rosemary Anderson said: “We are delighted to see someone of Daryl's talent and wealth of tourism experience take on this important role in SA Tourism.” “His extensive experience in tourism and hospitality and proven track record in both the public and private sectors make him ideal for this position.”

    Erasmus brings valuable industry expertise from previous roles at SA Tourism, Travelport, Protea Hotels and InterContinental Hotels.

    “This strategic appointment at SA Tourism is particularly important as our industry gears up for growth,” Mr Anderson added. “His understanding of both the operational and strategic aspects of tourism will be invaluable in advancing our efforts to create sustainable employment opportunities in our sector.”

    “FEDHASA is looking forward to working closely with Erasmus and the SA Tourism team. Together we will implement the necessary strategies to create substantial employment opportunities in tourism across our country and to become one of the world's leading tourism destinations.” We can further strengthen South Africa's position as a global destination.”
