    Commercial market outlook

As commercial aviation enters second half of 2024, passenger and air freight traffic volumes exceeded 2019 levels, highlighting the industry's resilience over the past decades. In the long term, both market segments are projected to continue to outperform economic growth. Consumers prioritize travel in an increasingly connected world, aviation development is accelerating in emerging markets, supply chains and e-commerce growth support the demand for air freight.

Just like air traffic, airlines are showing resilience. The global airline network is back to 2019 levels and adapting to new market trends. The competition on the route remains high. Additionally, airlines are managing their fleets and increasing productivity to maintain profitability in a dynamic global environment.

The 2024 commercial market outlook fleet and delivery forecast remain stable as industry dynamics are largely unfolding along the expected path for 2020. Innovation and emerging markets are once again driving the growth of the fleet. And the focus on sustainability across the industry is improving efficiency for all aspects of the airline.
