Angolan Flag-Carrier Taag has delivered the first Boeing 787, one of the four sets introduced in the airline fleet.
The first Twinjet, A 787-9, is equipped with a new coloring of operators-based operators.
The aircraft (D2-TEQ) equipped with the GE Aerospace Genx engine flew from Seattle to Luanda on January 29.
The aircraft used to work as a demo aircraft before, but it appeared in the 2023 Paris Airlines Show, which featured the coloring of Saudi Arabia's emerging companies, Liyad Air.
TAAG has signed two 787-9 and a larger 787-10 pair.
The first aircraft was leased by Ireland -based AERCAP and arrived at the capital of Angola a few days before the national release on February 4.
TAAG's highest executive officer Nelson Pedro Rodrigues de Oliveira is a “extremely important step” to modernize.
He says that the 787 brings “efficiency and versatility” to update the wide body fleet composed of five Boeing 777-300ers and three 777-200ers.
TAAG plans to expand the network to Europe and examine the possibility of services to destinations in Asia and North America.
AERCAP signed a sale and leasback contract at the first TAAG 787-9 for the end of last year.
