Airlink flights between Cape Town and St Helena Island resumed seasonal service on Saturday 7 December.

Flights between South Africa's 'Mother City' and the South Atlantic island will operate every Saturday until 29 March 2025. This will strengthen the weekly schedule between Johannesburg and St Helena, which will operate on Tuesdays during the summer season.

Before 2017, when commercial flights to St. Helena's new airport began operating, the only way to reach St. Helena Island was a five-day boat trip from Cape Town. Now, Airlink puts this bucket list destination within easy reach of visitors.

“The flight time between Cape Town and Jamestown is approximately six hours, with a short refueling stop in Walvis Bay,” Airlink CEO and Managing Director Roger Foster said. “For travelers with a penchant for adventure and history, St. Helena is one of the most unspoilt, fascinating and unforgettable places, and we are honored to be entrusted with this route.”

St Helena Tourism Director Matt Joshua said the seasonal Cape Town to St Helena route was invaluable to locals with ties to South Africa, South African tourists and international travelers from the UK and Europe. That's what he says.

“Cape Town is the starting point for tourism, and Airlink connects the Mother City directly with St. Helena, providing convenient and reliable service to a destination that holds a unique mystique for many.” says Joshua. “It truly is a destination like no other.”

Located in the middle of the South Atlantic Ocean and once an important port of call between Europe and Asia, St. Helena is now home to nearly 4,000 residents and offers visitors an opportunity to explore the island's extraordinary history, traditions, and landscapes. , wildlife and nature are ready to be introduced. From unparalleled walking and hiking trails to bird watching, diving, snorkeling and photography, the island is just a short flight from Cape Town.

You can find the lowest fares and promotional fares by visiting the Airlink website www.flyairlink.com or by contacting an IATA travel agent. An amazing Atlantic adventure begins with just one click. Explore, book, and find great deals today!
