Air Seychelles has ended its seasonal flights to Reunion Island from December 30, 2024 to January 18, 2025. In eight rotations, the airline carried nearly 500 passengers between the islands, highlighting the strong demand for connections between Seychelles and Réunion. The service includes direct flights as well as routes with stops in Mauritius, giving passengers more travel options. The initiative, launched in collaboration with the Seychelles Tourism Board, aims to improve accessibility and encourage travel between the two island destinations.
The seasonal service is part of a strategic partnership established in June 2024 through a Special Daily Arrangement Agreement (SPA) with Air Austral following the suspension of Air Austral's flights to the Seychelles. Charles Johnson, Chief Commercial Officer of Air Seychelles, highlighted the airline's commitment to meeting demand during the holiday season and offering regular flights to Réunion through its Mauritius routes throughout the year. The company thanked its partners and passengers for their support in increasing travel opportunities and strengthening ties between popular destinations in the Indian Ocean.
