    The Air Cathedo Antnov An-26 was severely damaged by an accidental excursion accident at Congoro Airport in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

    The accident occurred on January 21, 2025 when the Twin Engine Antonov AN-26 landed at Congolo Airport (KOO) in Tanganya.

    It is reported that the aircraft with 9S-AYN has carried cigarettes on a regional flight from Sesame Airport (GOM).

    After landing at Congoro Airport, the aircraft could not stop within the remaining runway. I covered the edge of the runway and entered the clearway area with grass. The muscles collapsed, and the aircraft burned the right engine and rested.

    Authorities advised that there were no victims as a result of the landing accident. At the time of the accident, five crew members were on the aircraft.

    According to Radio Okapi, a territory of Congolo, Jean Paul Ngongo Muboca Miva made a statement after visiting the crash fallen site.

    “Captain talks about bad landing. The plane deviates from the normal route of the runway during landing. The propeller on the right was blocked. The engine on the right was damaged.”

    “The product is not affected, all crew members are safe and healthy. I am grateful to the inhabitants who mobilized this fire.”
