The young woman was opened about a 2,600-mile journey for a dental makeover. I fully realize that the results will only last about 10 years.

24-year-old Lottie Kerr decided to achieve a dazzling new smile to fix chips, cracks, discoloration and false issues.

However, after sharing her transformation online, Lotty met an unexpected barrage of criticism. Her Tiktok video exploded in popularity, earning over 28.9 million views and 1.6 million likes.

In an interview with NEET TOKNOW, a Lotty from North Wales, she shared her surprise at the public's response. “I knew my video with shaved teeth would likely evoke some sort of reaction because it was so outrageous, but I didn't expect the video to have an international reach and receive the amount of negativity it did,” Wales reported online.

“I was told to kill myself. I ruined my life, I still ugh after the proceedings, and I have a negative impact on young, impressive viewers.

“I don't think many people are sharing the 'in the middle' stages of this procedure online, so (people) don't really see what's going on to create the 'perfect Hollywood smile'.

“Until recently, I've started to have a huge concern about teeth.”

Discussing her reasons, Lottie explained: “I had chips, cracks, stains, alignment issues and wanted a perfect smile.”

    Life is short

Price disparities between countries were very noticeable. The British dentist cited Lotti as a huge £9,900 for Crown Veneer, but ended up paying around £4,000 in Türkiye.

In 2023, the Turkish Dental Association reported that a staggering 250,000 individuals flock to Türkiye every year for dental procedures.

Lottie shared her experience, “There were 10 crowns at the top and 10 at the bottom.”

    She added:

“All my teeth were shaved and reshaped so that the crown could be slotted at the top, making it suitable seal.”

Despite her extensive work, she said:

“I was at the dentist for four days in a row, but only had a few hours each day.”

Postprocher confessed, “I have a lot of anxiety about losing one or suffering from sudden pain, but it's only been a few weeks since the procedure, so I need to get used to it.”

However, she expressed her joy at the outcome: “I am very pleased with the outcome. Personally, I have had a 100% positive response.”

        Risks and risks

Describing herself as a “very spontaneous person,” Lottie revealed that the decision to take dental work was made several months ago.

She realizes that she may need to repeat treatment in 10 years, but she does not see it as an issue.

    She explained:

“(But) I should be able to do whatever we want with our own body that stipulates that life is short and that it is safe.

“I have made sure that the clinics I have chosen used high quality materials and that the dentist is properly trained, licensed and experienced.

“I know the lifespan of a porcelain crown, but I know I need to go back in 10 years. But I know I live now and have a big beautiful smile now than I live my life with my teeth in the state they were.

“This was my option to achieve the look.”

However, Lottie was “overwhelmed” by the huge attention her video received.

Choosing to focus on positive feedback, she ignores negative comments.

    She added:

“But now I can brush off the comments because I see the results and am very pleased with my teeth.

“We are undoubtedly more aware of the risks and dangers associated with this type of procedure overseas.”

The NHS website offers advice to those considering treatment overseas, including a checklist.

“It points out that “all types of treatments contain a risk component.”

“It's important to get as much information as possible about treatment options so that you can make informed choices.”

The NHS urges individuals to seek treatment abroad, recognize warning signs, seek alternative opinions, conduct thorough research, explain potential side effects and complications, and deliberate carefully to ensure additional guidance is available on the platform.
