The UK's popular beach attracts visitors from all over the country when it's sunny and is nominated as one of the world's most “sexing” ones. A new study by Cloudwards has identified the coastal spots that are most criticised by travelers, with one UK beach in the top 10.
Despite being welcoming by some visitors as “beautiful”, Bournemouth Beach has emerged as one of the most disappointing beaches in the world. Experts have analyzed TripAdvisor reviews of the 200 most popular beaches in the world. And this spot in Dorset came in fifth place, and people were complaining about its cleanliness and how crowded it was.
It may be one of the UK's most famous beaches, but experts say viewers will be less than what impressed them.
Bournemouth has a 7-mile coastline, making it particularly popular during the summer when visitors from across the UK flock to the coast.
However, this was one of the major complaints that visitors had a 52% “complaint score” on TripAdvisor about the issue.
The cleanliness of Bournemouth Beach also fired, with 31% of people saying negative things about it.
Sharing their disappointment, one visitor wrote:
“I've never seen too much trash left by people using the beach. Food, plates, wrappers, bottles, towels, plastic bags and a list goes on.
“I think the council should put their actions together and start paying the beaches, getting an education, and putting these girth heavy. That's a garbage dump.”
But not everyone says anything negative about the beach. One visitor couldn't fully praise it on TripAdvisor.
“The kids were swimming and the water wasn't too cold. Bournemouth is all the perfect family's beach escape destination. We're planning to return this summer.”
Another comment commented:
“Lifeguards available on the beach. Clean and neat layout, nothing negative we found. Great facilities nearby, highly recommended.”
And the third person said: “This is certainly one of the best beaches I've visited in the UK. We had beautiful weather so it was lovely to walk through the sand.”
