Zimbabwe's Online Border Management System (OBMS) is currently fully operational, providing end-to-end digital visas and immigration services to travelers. The system, first introduced by the Immigration Bureau in January, allows online visa applications and streamlined border clearance via electronic gates (E-Gate) at major entry points, including Robert Gabriel Mugave, Joshua McCubconcomo, Victoria Falls International Airport and Beitbridge Border Post.
OBMS is part of a broader effort to modernize Zimbabwe's travel infrastructure and improve the visitor experience. Travelers can now complete their arrival form and visa application online. According to Home Affairs Minister Kazenbe Kazenbe, the system reduced immigration processing time to just 22 seconds per passenger. This move coincides with global tourism trends prioritizing speed and convenience, enhancing Zimbabwe's appeal as a competitive destination for international tourists.
