Zimbabwe is seeking to reestablish a direct air link with Singapore following a bilateral meeting between Zimbabwe's Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Development Felix Moona and Singapore's Minister of Transport, Jeffrey Siow. The talk was held on the sidelines of the 2025 Global Aviation and Maritime Symposium in Singapore, focusing on launching flights between Singapore and Zimbabwe's major tourist hubs.
The discussion revisited the 2014 Bilateral Aviation Services Agreement, originally established during the time Air Zimbabwe was running flights to Singapore. Mhona highlighted the recent infrastructure upgrades at Robert Gabriel Mugave International Airport. It is currently housed on widebody aircraft and can handle up to 6 million passengers per year. Minister SIOW expressed his willingness to consider existing agreements in September 2025, with further dialogue planned at the International Civil Aviation Organisation Parliament.
