Travelers were shocked when they were struck by the brutal reality of Singapore Airport, dubbed the best airport in the world.
Jessica Jane Turner is currently traveling around the world after selling her home with her partner Jasper.
After realising that household prices in their area were rising, the couple decided to take the plunge and sell their homes and get the opportunity to travel together.
The couple visited Singapore in Thailand five weeks after travelling in Europe and Asia for the past few years, as they often stayed in one place for a few weeks.
Since then, they continued their trips elsewhere, Jessica wanted to have the opportunity to spend a few extra hours at Singapore's Changi Airport. But things didn't go as expected.
In a video released to Tiktok, Jessica said: So I really wanted to see the waterfall, so I arrived at the airport a few hours before my flight.
“So we checked our bags and headed for the gem, which had a huge waterfall. And at this moment we realized there was no waterfall.”
She went on to explain that the airport is going viral online in the middle of the night and is turning off the Jeweled Rain Vortex, which won't come back until 11am. The waterfall in question is seven stories tall, making it the tallest indoor waterfall in the world. Most days it is from 11am to 10pm.
“But we could see these trains passing, and it was pretty cool,” Jessica said.
The waterfalls were not the only ones that closed in the morning. Arriving at the airport at 8am, the couple quickly realized that most of the airport's shops and restaurants weren't open until 11am.
“It was so creepy that I didn't walk around here because it was really empty. It sounds really ridiculous now, but I thought that everything in Singapore's airport is open 24 hours a day. “We're coming and going to Singapore Airport,” Jessica said in the video.
“But McDonald's was open so we ended up eating food there. The airport itself feels very clean, so it's a very nice place.”
The couple was then seen hoping on a new flight to continue their trip elsewhere.
Express contacted Jessica for comment.
