German Airlines has announced new colouring for 190 aircraft. Most of them are operated by the Dutch regional airline KLM CityHopper.
The Cologne-based wet lease specialist's initial aircraft (D-AJHW) has undergone a repaint and will return to operation after maintenance checks.
Under logistics company Zeitfracht Group, German aviation emerged by the combination of regional airlines WDL and LGW has eight E190s.
That new colouring removes the airline's name from the fin in favor of the stylized German flag design.
German aviation says it's about “letting people speak the colours themselves instead.”
“After almost five years of use, the German Airlines brand has been firmly established in the European market,” said Managing Director Maren Walters.
“As a service provider with generally German quality characteristics, such as reliability and high technical performance, I would like to take the next visual step.”
Aircraft operating in CityHopper also feature titles that correspond to their effects on the fuselage.
