The Lake District offers the best views available in the UK and walking trails that rival any country. The area offers plenty of “lake walks” around vast bodies of water, with some routes moving far more frequently than others.
Buttermere Walk is one of the easiest hikes to incorporate the Scottish wilderness, with a flat 4.5-mile path surrounded by lake-ringing mountains. “I feel like I'm at the heart of these huge peaks without having to step out of the valley floor,” the Lake District website explains. Adventure content creator @joshadventures_ visited surreal spots to embark on a remote lake walk and was amazed at its quiet beauty.
Josh's Tiktok account has attracted over 14,000 followers, and Buttermere shares a variety of travel videos and Crowns Battermere as “one of the best walks you can take.”
He added:
The video shows Josh opening cave pedestrians encountering “secret tunnels” as they get lost in order to continue their journey.
“I'm still busy here, but I'm hiding away from other spots.
“The views are amazing, so you'll definitely take longer than two hours to walk around the lake. Take your time to suck up the atmosphere and explore the small waterfall just off the road.
“And if you are very lucky, like me, you can meet some of the locals – these highland cows.”
Indigenous people of the Highlands of Scotland are known to roam areas near Buttermere Walk.
Buttermere was a classic walk from the early days when it first visited by Victorian tourists.
On its west side, the Brideway embraces the lake shore before steadily climbing the tall trees of the Bartness Forest.
This route links with roads along the valley to form a loop that reflects the Victorian walking route, allowing the majority of the same scenery to be incorporated for mountain biking people.
