Vietjet has signed a fresh order for 20 more Airbus A330-900S to see long-term network expansion.
The order, which was announced on the sidelines that French President Emmanuel Macron had visited Vietnam, adds to the existing commitment of low-cost operators to the 20 A330Neos, which he first disclosed at the February 2024 Singapore Air Show.
Vietjet is an existing operator of the A330-300, with seven examples in the fleet. Widebody deployments for flights to India, Australia and Central Asia.
“This long-term order will support Vietjet's continued international network expansion, allowing airlines to increase flights on large-capacity routes in the Asia-Pacific region, and allow new future long-distance services to Europe.”
Vietjet in 2024 said it was looking to expand its network to Europe and even America, along with the new A330Neos.
This order is the latest fleet development from Vietjet. In mid-May, we confirmed that 50 new Boeing 737 Max Jets would be transferred to our Thai subsidiary. The first example will be released in October.
