The US Air Force in Europe – Air Force Africa (USAFE-AFAFRICA) led the US military participation at the 2025 Paris Air Show held in France last week. The event concluded on June 22nd, bringing together global aerospace leaders for exhibitions, demonstrations and industry forums.
Throughout the week, US service members engaged with alliance and partner Air Force, defense personnel, and international aerospace representatives. The US presence aims to strengthen the US Air Force's commitment to innovation, cooperation and preparation among its global partners.
An important feature was the international rock 'n' challenge, where high school students in France, the UK, the US and Japan competed to safely launch and retrieve raw eggs via rockets. Supported by the Aerospace Industries Association and the US Air Force, the STEM-centric initiative also includes mentoring sessions to inspire the next generation of aerospace innovators.
The US Army and Navy joined the Air Force to highlight the integrated nature of US military operations around the world and demonstrate joint capabilities. It emphasized that a diverse range of aircraft are ready for the US to deliver the Air Force anytime, anywhere.
Among the aircraft on display were the US Air Force F-35A Lightning II, F-15E Strike Eagle, KC-46A Pegasus, C-130J Super Hercules, C-17 Globemaster III, and MQ-9 Reaper. The US Navy introduced the P-8A Poseidon, while the US Army contributed to the CH-47 Chinook and the UH-60 Black Hawk helicopter.
“Military power and economic security are closely linked,” said Colonel Christopher “PK” Kasem, operations director for USAFE-Afafrica and air boss of the show. “Our presence here strengthens an alliance that encourages work, trade and investment at home, building on the security that continues with our allies, ensuring we are ready to stand shoulder to shoulder, fight and win.”
The participation of the US military in the Paris Air Show demonstrated its lasting commitment to peace through strength, technical leadership and close cooperation with France and other allies.
