London Luton Airport has issued alerts that exceed two passport rules that passengers may not know. Changes have been made after Brexit. This means there are different requirements when traveling to European countries with a UK passport.
A post from the official account of X's airport, a previous Twitter account, read, “A trip in the EU? If you are traveling (and/or) in your passport for less than three months and you enter an EU country, you will need to renew your passport.”
The alert came from Luton Airport, but the requirements are the same no matter where you depart. If the travel documents do not meet the rules, you will not be allowed to board the plane.
Before traveling, it is essential to thoroughly check your passport in advance to ensure that you have time for the necessary applications and updates. Applications via the His Ma Under (HM) Passport Office can take around three weeks, but in some cases it can take longer, especially if you need more information or have to interview them.
HM Passport Office says it will notify you if this applies. Passport prices rose earlier this year. Currently, people over the age of 16 have a new standard adult passport for £94.50 via online application and £107 if using paper form.
The standard child passport application fee is £61.50 online and £74 postal application. If premium service is required for the issuance of Swift Passport, adults will return £222 and children will return £189.
