Reserving a specific seat before your trip will make your flight more comfortable if you are willing to pay. However, according to one expert, there is one common mistake many people make when making a choice.
Brenna Ryan of Victorian Plumbing explained that passengers should always consider their bathroom habits when booking flights. She named the best plane seat based on toilet access, revealing that travelers should avoid at all costs. “There are several important factors to keep in mind when choosing a flight location: Think about how often you visit the toilet.
Victorian plumbing experts recommend dodging the middle seat of the plane, saying, “The first thing to consider is which part of the plane to sit. Usually, planes have toilets on the front and back, so sit there if possible and avoid the center of the plane, which is the farthest from the toilet.”
However, she warned that it was too close to convenience as it could be a queue.
“One thing to keep in mind when choosing a seat with access to the toilet is that you don't want to get close to the front or back of the plane,” Brenna said.
Sitting near the toilet means that the seats are constantly blocked by people in line because they are shaking.
Plumbing experts highlighted another harsh reason to avoid toilets, suggesting that “they might smell it from them.”
In addition to the front and rear rows, avoiding the middle part of the plane is not the only place to avoid. Travelers should also consider the location of each row.
If you are anticipating frequent trips to the toilet, or if you want to stretch your legs while flying, do not book windows or centre seats.
Brenna says the “best seating option on a plane” is the 4c. She suggests offering “a comfortable, odorless trip with access to great toilets.”
On the other hand, 11a should be avoided. Brenna said this was “the worst seat on a plane” because it was far from the bathroom.
It is also a window seating, making it more difficult to maneuver due to frequent bathroom breaks.
