The travel promoter is pleased to share his appointment as UK sales and marketer for Sirikoi Lodge, located in the iconic Luwa Wildlife Refuge in northern Kenya.
This intimate, family-run lodge feels more like staying in your own eco-chic private home than a traditional safari lodge. One of its main selling points is an enviable spot in the hills of Mount Kenya, surrounded by 68,000 acres of primitive wilderness. Sirikoi has recently won numerous awards at the World Travel Awards 2024, including “Kenya's major Safari Lodge.”
Named after the stream passing by the lodge, Sirikoi accommodation is the only four safari tents, Sirikoi Cottage, with its own Safari vehicle, Sirikoi House, which boasts three ensuite bedrooms for exclusive use with guides, chefs and staff. Everything enjoys deck views above the lawn, dotted with beautiful acacia trees for shade, and extends to busy natural waterfall holes and wetlands where wildlife gathers.
The sustainability of Sirikoi is an important focus, allowing guests to enjoy “farm-to-farm” produce grown on organic vegetable gardens and orchard grounds. Sirikoi is entirely solar powered, recognized by Ecotourism Kenya and is also a member who is proud of its long-term commitment, emphasizing its commitment to overall sustainability and its 4C philosophy, including conservation, culture, community and commerce. The lodge supports the community through education, health initiatives and employment, and preserves cultural heritage.
Wildlife viewing on Lewa is incredible. This includes regular sightings of black and white rhinoceros, leopards, cheetahs and lions, with elephant flocks and other games remaining almost daily in front of the Silicoid deck. Morning, evening and evening game drives can be enjoyed by guests in their own open-side safari cars, using Masai or Samble Guides and trackers. On foot with rangers on a bushwalk, or simply as an “armchair safari” from the lodge.
