However, planning a summer vacation doesn't mean fighting the crowd or paying a premium price.

Travel experts share some clever strategies for enjoying popular destinations with large crowds and no cost.
In her tips, she made it clear that it's best to make a reservation – and her statements may be unexpected for some.
Calling it the “Dead Week,” cheap trading experts share that booking rates are low for the days of June.
Dawn Morwood, co-director of cheap trading, said:
“Reservation rates often fall in the week of June 26th and the first week of July.
“These weeks are between typical school holiday dates and are perfect for kids-free travelers.”
Experts also suggested that hotel bookings be smarter and too early. Morwood explained that hotel prices often approach the date of their stay.
So he added: “Sweet spots for summer hotel bookings are three to four weeks before your trip. Many hotels release unsold rooms at discounted rates during this period.
“But if you're heading to popular beach destinations or major cities, book a couple of months ahead. Places like Greek islands and Spain's Costa del Sol will fill up quickly in July and August.
