The best countries in the world have been selected in the 2024 Reader's Choice Award, and once again the best destinations have been won by tourists from all over the world.
This Magical Land was named by Condé Nast traveller readers' favorite destination in the world by Condé Nast traveller readers in the 2024 edition of the magazine's annual readers' choice award, with an impressive score of 95.32. Readers' Choice Awards are determined through the voting process that views the public vote for the preferred recipient, and the largest spot is then determined based on the total number of votes received within each category.
The honorable honor of achieving the ultimate destination in the world goes to Japan. Thailand, Switzerland, France and New Zealand were all highly praised at the 2024 awards, but Japan has finished in the top spot with second consecutive wins from magazine readers.
Japan has long been charming among brave travelers, and is often found on many travel bucket lists thanks to its stunning natural beauty, rich cultural heritage, cleanliness, high quality and its pristine environment.
The perceived kindness of the Japanese also influences the attraction of many tourists to the country. Luckily enough for many to visit, it declares it a land with a true contrast to the rich centuries-old tradition mixed with future innovations.
“It's official. You can't get enough of Japan in a country that has a high mark for safety, but much more importantly, it was your favorite thing that it does and the culture does,” the publication wrote.
“You will still find the perfect clean and efficient high-speed train that runs along some of the most scenic railway routes in the world, along with incredible restaurants, ultra-abolition sheds, Shinto temples, cherry blossoms and some of the world's most scenic railway routes.”
The Japanese hotels were also recognized by the top 10 hotels by Condé Nast Travelers in Japan, with Tokyo and Tokyo Station hotels at the Four Seasons Hotels in Otemachi becoming the top winners.
However, the publication also pointed out how Japan's new and exciting cultural offerings have seen it once again win the best country.
These include “1599 Hilltop Castle, you can book a night stay. New galleries, exhibitions, ultra-stylish glamping resorts, lively gin scenes and a roster of sushi bars at the helm of female chefs still become much richer in this tradition-covered country.”
Japan's recent UNESCO World Heritage Site designators have also been added to tourists gathering in Japan, including a prehistoric site from the northern part of John “completely uninhabited by humans and filled with endangered species.”
Apart from culture and tradition, Japan offers some of the world's most spectacular scenery, including ancient temples and gardens in Kyoto, Mt. Fuji, the Seto Inland Sea, and the traditional villages of Shirakawa Gogo.
“Even within the crowd, the whole place felt very calm and peaceful,” he wrote one review on TripAdvisor.
“It's a really great place to slow down and take everything in. It's definitely a 'amazing' moment to visit Japan. ”
