Tourism Seychelles has announced its return to the expected Seychelles Nature Trail Challenge, which will be held on August 9, 2025. At a press conference held on March 19, 2025, staff outlined plans for the second edition of the international trail running event.
Gathering attendees from around the world, the challenge will provide runners with unforgettable adventures as they travel through the diverse terrain of the Seychelles, from lush forests to rocky paths and coastal trails. The event is expected to attract both international and local attendees, offering an exciting opportunity to highlight the unique beauty of the Seychelles and the offering of ecotourism.
Mrs. Sheryn Francis, the Chief Secretary of the Tourism Bureau, welcomed the event and highlighted its importance in strengthening the Seychelles' status as a premier destination for nature-based sports. She noted that the competition not only promotes the natural beauty of the Seychelles, but also strengthens the island's commitment to sustainable tourism. “We want to hold the Seychelles Nature Trail Challenge for the second time, offering an unparalleled opportunity to showcase the diverse, untouched environments that Seychelles offers to the world,” PS Francis said.
Reflecting this enthusiasm, Mrs. Bernadette Willemin, Director of Destination Marketing within the Tourism Division, stated, “The Seychelles Nature Trail Challenge is an important step in the journey to promote the Seychelles as a cutting-edge destination in ecotourism, and expressed an important step about the event, as well as natural scenery.”
The press conference also highlighted the collaboration between key partners and sponsors, including district managers of Seychelles Police, Skychev, Constance Epheria, Seychelles Parks and Gardens Authority, National Sports Council, Nuuvobank, Cable & Wireless, Pascal, Skova, Grand Ansemae and Vallich. Their support is important to ensure that the event runs smoothly and strengthens the Seychelles' position as a top destination in outdoor sports and ecotourism.

The 22-kilometer course will allow runners to pass iconic locations such as Capterne, Anse Major and Male Axcochon, offering both physical challenges and immersive journeys through the rich biodiversity of the Seychelles.
In addition to excitement, the cultural event “Fun Fair-A” will be held at the Grand Ansemahe stadium, where participants will celebrate the rich Creole traditions of the Seychelles. This cultural showcase offers the opportunity for visitors to engage with the community and enrich the island's experience.
