These are airlines with the largest baggage allowance | Travel News | Travel

If you are planning a summer vacation and know that you are likely to overpack, or if you want to take lots of souvenirs back for a friend, it is important to know that the airline you book is important. If you have checked bags, some airlines offer greater allowances than others. If you are likely to want a large suitcase, experts from the Travel Republic have revealed the airlines with the largest baggage allowance.

Most airlines have a standard check baggage allowance of 23kg for economy class passengers, with some exceptions due to local policies, generous baggage policies, or specific routes. The Travel Republic has revealed all airlines that allow this standard limit to exceed – and at the top is the Emirates.

Passengers flying with the Emirates can expect a 30kg baggage allowance (economy saver, flex and flex plus fare). Popular destinations from UK airports, including Dubai, Bangkok and Sydney, can take that long trip with confidence, having plenty of space for all your essentials and more.

Etihad is second on the list, and a 30kg limit is also possible. With destinations that include Abu Dhabi and Bangkok, the villa content can be packed into the heart content for an extra 7kg. It is worth noting, however, that this limit is for economic value and economic flexion (not economic transactions).

If you are planning a trip to Doha, Bali, or Bangkok, Qatar Airways offers 30kg checked baggage allowances for passengers flying in Economy Classics and more.

Economy Standard and Economy Flex Flights can be expected to cost 30kg with Singapore airlines from the UK to Asia and Australia. This is perfect for those who need special purpose packaging on active or family holidays, as there is plenty of space for sports equipment and gear.

Turkish airlines offer 30kg economy at many long-distance destinations, particularly using weight concepts in Asia, Africa and the Middle East. This also means that multiple light bags can be packaged instead of one large bag, making it easier to process if necessary.

An expert at Travel Republic said: “It's important to always double-check the baggage allowance on your route, as there may be exceptions. For example, most flights to the US still only have 23kg. We recommend that you put your baggage slightly below the maximum allowance.
