The picturesque town of Alcuzia is one of the most popular resorts in Spain's Balearic Islands, located in the northern region of Mallorca. Just a kilometer inland from Port d'Arcudia's famous holiday resort, it is the ideal place to savor the rich Mallorcan heritage, not too far from the beaten path. It's a solid favorite that both locals and Spaniards gather on the island for a summer vacation.

The Spanish village welcomed 39.2 million domestic and international visitors in 2024, with 68% being Spanish tourists. It was the most popular village, according to data published in a report by the Telefonica Institute of Technology in Alcudia, Mallorca. Travel Afionado Gabi praised her blog Thelithuanianabroad as “one of the most beautiful towns in Mallorca.”

She confessed: “Growing up in Germany, I always thought Mallorca was a party island where you could find annoying tourists drinking Sanria from a bucket.”

Gabi continued: “But as you leave the party area of Mallorca, you will find a fairytale island with blue water, white sandy beaches, the old town and incredible nature.

But what awaits you at Alcudia?

Alcuzia is a heaven for those seeking to absorb Spanish nighttime culture. The restaurant and cafe have a beautiful terrace and cozy gardens.

Stylish boutiques and Mallorca specialities line the streets, with passing medieval homes being the norm when wandering the streets.

Major attractions include the town hall and the majestic home of past nobles.

A travel expert at Abbocallorca said, “All over, you can get a glimpse of one of the big, shady patios.

Walking through the old city of Alcuzia

This medieval UNESCO World Heritage Site provides an ideal setting for a quiet night amble.

The Old Town is about exploring historic buildings, charming squares and lively markets. Its size is second only to its atmosphere and the attractions it offers.

Discover the Polandia city of Rome

Today, the city of Polentia in Rome, an archaeological site of Alcudia, offers a glimpse into Roman life in the Balearic Islands. It was once a prosperous Roman settlement with forums, theaters and residential areas.

The beachfront edge, with its dining options serving luxurious Mediterranean cuisine, is inspired by tapas, sangria and the iconic Mallorcan Ensaimada.

For a lively atmosphere, explore the area near Bellevue Strip, which has both nightlife and family-friendly attractions. If you're looking for a more relaxed experience, Alcudia Beach is a popular choice for its clear, shallow water and soft white sand.

Don't miss nearby beaches such as Muro Beach, Plata Jade Cor Baix, Playa Her Marpus and Playa de Sanpele.

British holiday makers who came across “Secret Beach” shared their experiences. “This quiet beach in residential areas is usually full of locals and has a family atmosphere. Chingate (bar/restaurant) and hoses are connected for the shower.

Other idyllic towns that have captured the hearts of both locals and Spanish tourists include Sora and Polenza.
