Drinking a glass of wine or vodka soda is common on flights, but travel experts warn you, as it can cause problems both during and during your trip.
A recent study by the Institute of Aerospace Medicine found that the body absorbs alcohol more quickly and speeds up the effect of intoxicating it.
Combined with altitude during flight, alcohol consumption can strain the heart and lungs and can cause symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath and severe dizziness.
One in 10 Brits confessing to being drunk on flights, travel expert Jamie Fraser is dangerous to drink the sky for a wild pack in a US summer camp I explained that.
He said:
“Recognizing these effects and taking wise precautions will help passengers make their journey safer and more comfortable.”
He added that you are likely to become dehydrated while drinking alcohol during flight. He said: “The air in the plane is very low in humidity, about 10%, which can quickly lead to dehydration and lead to dizziness, headaches and fatigue.”
During flights, people usually drink less water than usual, so adding alcohol to the mixture increases the risk of dehydration.
Dehydration associated with too much alcohol sitting during flight increases the risk of clots and deep venous thrombosis.
“Alcohol can weaken the heart muscle, increase blood pressure, and increase the risk of heart disease. Falling asleep on flight can put an additional strain on the heart.
“This has shown that this reduces blood oxygen levels and increases heart rate. This not only disrupts deep sleep, but also allows people with existing heart disease to suffer from heart disease. It's becoming more vulnerable.”
How to minimize the risk of drinking while flying
Drink Responsibly – Avoid excessive drinking and note that alcohol can have a higher effect at a higher level. Drink plenty of water before and during flight, pair linking alcoholic drinks with a glass of water. Pace yourself accordingly. Consider the cabin crew – if they say it's enough for you to drink, follow their advice. Until you arrive at your destination, plan your sleep because alcoholic drinks rather than airplane alcohol can disrupt sleep.
