Stepping into the sands of Viking Bay in Kent, you are allowed to think of a jet set at a holiday hotspot in the Mediterranean. With its golden shoreline curves, a vibrant fishing boat fleet and a splash of parasols that color the scene, this bustling beach is the ideal choice for your next seaside excursion.

Located in the heart of Broadsteer in Thanet, the destination boasts an overflowing culinary culture to delight food, complemented by the excellent coffee you can taste in this quaint coastal town. Adventures upwards from the bay will wait for a treasure trove of cafes, bars, restaurants and historic buildings to be discovered. To perfect your beach day experience, Viking Bay offers sun loungers and umbrellas for rent.

Visitors praised the bay, and one admirer said: “If heaven was on Earth. Maybe Broadstairs is exactly where it is. Friendly people, miles of golden sand and clean. On a holiday in the UK, it's amazing.”

The charming visitors have plenty of attractions. An attractive little pier arches through the sea, active harbors with fishing boats sliding into the sea, top walks of cliffs, nostalgic wooden boardwalks, Punch and Judy show promised entertainment for the whole family.

A reviewer on Ecstatic Tripadvisor said, “The best seaside town on the Kent Coast. The beach is amazing. The rock pool is a big plus. The beach in the arch has a great coffee shop. Perfect British Beach!”

The sand is charmingly soft and has been praised as the gold standard for Sandcastle architects.

Arranged behind you, the seductive background of sun-kissed traits, the iconic white cliffs that stand as the hallmarks of the Kentish Coast of these parts, and the exhilarating sea breeze, a treasure trove of fish and chip outlets await you, and other nutrient-rich delights await you.

However, one facility stands out as a must-see. Morelli is famous for its heavenly ice cream, cakes, pastries and warm drinks.

The Morelli family has been soaking in the art of ice cream creation, and have hone their craft for over a century. With pride engraved on every scoop, their gelato is widely celebrated.

TripAdvisor users contributed to an impressive rating of Morelli, with a total of 1,259 reviews that captured a total of 4.2 stars.

“Whether you choose to sit in a vintage restaurant or visit a takeaway counter is both great options. The wide range of flavors, colors, flavors and textures are no match for anyone. Don't forget to ask for a special.”

Don't skip the Buffet Bay Cafe. It boasts of offering newly prepared hot and cold dishes onsite, boasting ice cream, snacks and full bar service.

In a refreshing time, la la under vibrant umbrellas at the Viking Bay Cafe, nurse “icy Billa Moretti” (typical Italian lager) and slick time on this breathtaking British Riviera.

As one visitor did, stretching out the seaside bliss in the evening, “Great beach, we had a lovely dinner with a view of the sea at the amazing pub.

Experience the comfort of reaching Viking Bay from above by taking modern lifts housed in an elegant tower. Restored in 2021 by Thanet District Council for £17,000, the modernised lift operates seasonally.

Nevertheless, there is an ongoing campaign that will make it available throughout the year, as reported by Kentlive in April.

Alternatively, use the stairs to access the bay or choose a slope on the other side of the sand. Or would you choose a picturesque approach from the adjacent Louisa Bay?
