The Nordic Atlantic expects accounting profits to pass the 787-8 fleet

Longhall operator Norsea Tlantic Airways pulled all three Boeing 787-8s back to lenders and concentrated on the 787-9 fleet.

The aircraft was originally delivered to Scandinavian airlines in 2022 and was dry leased to Spanish operator Air Europa.

The Nordic Atlantic adopted a revised business plan last year. This involved simplifying the structure of the fleet, focusing only on 12 787-9 years.

    Nordic 787-C-Norse Atlantic

It states that it has completed withdrawal of 787-8. All three serial numbers 35310, 35313 and 35314 feature the Rolls Roy Trent 1000 engine.

“Following the transaction, there is a uniform, flexible and cost-effective fleet in the Nordic Atlantic,” he added that the 787-8 had around four years of lease leadership.

The carrier says it will record “significant” accounting profits in the first quarter of this year as a result of the transaction.

That 787-9 has a lease for the remaining 7-14 years. The airline's new business strategy will lease many of these aircraft to balance seasonal traffic cycles.
