Ashnil Mara Camp has officially reopened after a comprehensive transformation and unveiled a reimagined safari retreat that combines contemporary design with the timeless charm of Masai Mara.
Along the banks of the Mara River, just 10 km from Tanzania's Serengeti, the rebuilt camp in one of the most wildlife-rich areas of the Masai Mara National Reserve, presents a new chapter in one of Kenya's most established safari characteristics.
A complete reconstruction of camp enhances the guest experience while still rooted in the natural beauty and rhythm of the bush.
Modern luxury meets the timeless wilderness
With a new look, the Ashnil Mara Camp features a fully reconstructed luxury tent with spacious, stylish and thoughtful design. Each tent includes a comfortable lounge area, elegant en suite bathroom, WiFi, private outdoor seating and upgraded amenities. Comprehensive minibar products will be introduced in 2026.
Additionally, guest areas have been converted more comfortably, highlighting their connection to the environment. River views, intimate lounges and seamless indoor and outdoor layouts create a more relaxing setting to return from game drives or enjoy downtime between activities.
Major new additions to the camp include:
Sinking Fire Pit for Evening Storytelling Under the Starry Sky Calm Yoga and Meditation Space (Open in 2026) Gym for Wellness-centric Travelers (Published in 2026) Private Dining Deck Overlooking the River for Special Occasion (Published in 2026)
Camp will also replace buffet services with sophisticated four-course plated meals starting in January 2026, introducing an advanced dining concept.
Front row access to the greatest moments of Masai Mara
Ashnil Mara Camp offers extraordinary access to wildlife viewing throughout the year as large migrations pass through the area between July and October. Guests often encounter dramatic wildlife activities without leaving the camp, thanks to the riverside environment.
The reopening of Ashnil Mara Camp represents an important milestone for Ashnil Camps & Lodges, speaking to the expectations of today's Safari guests, while maintaining the spirit of traditional East African safari.
