The countdown will be held in the 56th edition of Ballito Pro, announced by O'Neill, and this year's festival program promises the ultimate winter escape filled with thrilling sports, dynamic entertainment and lively lifestyle events. Hosted in the beautiful coastal town of Kwadukza from June 22nd to July 6th, this international surf and lifestyle festival will once again turn Ballito into the hottest holiday destination on the KZN North Coast.

“We've been making a great time to come to terms with the latest trends,” said Collette Bundy, Ballito Pro festival organizer, O'Neal. “This year's theme, “Maritime TV,” reflects a celebration of surf culture, music and sustainability. Visitors can expect an unforgettable experience day and night. ”

    1. Daily beach fan, retail and family entertainment

Every day of the festival, Willard Beach hosts a vibrant mix of beach recreational entertainment that offers something to every member of the family. Expect some engaging kids-friendly activities such as Lively Beach activities, stylish fashion shows, engaging kids-friendly activities with Jive with Jen, and Kiko Life featuring obstacle courses, tug-of-war and interactive competitions.

You'll be active at the Starfit Fitness Festival, including a variety of fitness and dance sessions at the La Montagne Hotel & Resort. Festival attendees can enjoy drum workshops, interactive beach pop-up sessions, and even Strongman competitions, ensuring that exciting things always happen on the coast.

In the Retail Delight section, visitors can enjoy delicious food and drinks, explore arts and crafts, browse quality products, and enjoy live music performances in a relaxed beachside environment.

    2. Music, party, post-dark atmosphere

The celebration will be thrilled at the Ballito Pro Music concert, presented by Corona, a free three-day music festival that has been shining in the spotlight by some of South Africa's most popular artists. This year, the crowd can look forward to another rocking line-up which includes, among many others: David Birch (Squeal), Matt Wilkinson (Perez), John Ellis (Tree 63), Heather Mac (Ella Mental), Gavin Meiring (Arapaho), Rob Warren (The Black Lapels), Gary Nixon (Kickstands), DJ Merlon, DJ Sox, Matthew Mole, Saxby Twins, Kyle Kassim.

Energy continues to be built with Willard Beach, DJ fights and unforgettable afterparty Corona Sunset sessions as part of the After Dark Program.

    3. Extreme sports action

Outside of professional surfing, there is plenty of sports action to entertain the audience at this year's Ballito Pro Festival. This year's event partner, Red Bull, is thrilling new additions, and will take Ballito Pro to new heights!

Visitors are looking forward to O'Neill Barrito Bowl Skate Jam, where South Africa's top skateboarders showcase their best tricks. Red Bull's revitalization includes Brian Capper's bike display and an airshow featuring South African legends. Don't miss the Red Bull Geordy +27 Watch Party held in Mozamvique Balito on July 3rd from 6pm – admission is free.

    4. Social, environmental and cultural influences

Presented by O'Neill, Ballito Pro is still committed to making meaningful differences, with a strong focus on social advancement, environmental responsibility and cultural celebrations. This year's environmental campaigns include expanding recycling and education campaigns with features with Litter4Tokens, Dolphin Coast Waste Management (DCWM), Ballito UIP, and Kwadukuza Municipality. This includes the Litter4Tokens Nurdles Competition & Recycling Project and the eco-partnership between Wild Oceans Trust and Wessa Blue Flag and Green Coast.

Meanwhile, the coastal and cultural tourism experiences highlight the rich tourism products of the Kwadukza, connecting visitors with the local history, heritage and hidden gems. This coincides with the #LovenorthCoast movement supported by the Ballito Urban Improvement District (UIP) and Kwadukuza Municipality.

Finally, the Ilembe Surf Development Fundraiser will help ensure continued support for this important community program.
