According to the well-known consumer champion, one of Scotland's scenic seaside towns has become the third best in the UK. St Andrews, located in Fife on Scotland's east coast, is Widley, known as the “Home of Golf.”

The town is named after the Apostle St. Andrew and is home to the University of St. Andrews, the third oldest English-speaking university in the world, the oldest in Scotland.

Every year, the town attracts over 600,000 visitors, many of whom play golf, enjoy beautiful scenery and food and drinks.

“Home of Golf” founded the Royal and Athing Golf Club in St. Andrews in 1754. The old course at St. Andrews Link is renowned for being the most frequent venue for the oldest open championships of the four major golf championships.

Which one? To find the best, we surveyed over 4,700 people about their experiences in coastal towns around the country.

Watchdog said: “The findings spotlight coastal gems from all four countries, with Bamburgh and Northumberland taking the top spot, while Port Mayrion and Gwyned are featured in St Andrews, Fife, 3rd, Portwart, Delhi/Londonderry, favourite Northern Ireland Resorts, and Top 20.

St Andrews is mostly known as the town of Unibrism, and Uni puts the 2022 Good University Guide as the best in the UK. Each year, students participate in the May Day Dip tradition to promote good fortune with exams and to promote academic sin cleansing.

But apart from this, many Scots have taken them to St Andrews for the vast beach setting.

Discuss St Andrews, which? “St Andrews was third, with a destination score of 82%. The “great and scenic” Scottish town received a 5-star rating in various categories, including tourist attractions, seaside, beaches, views, four stars for shopping and food and drinks. ”

Rory Boland, which editor? The trip states: “From wild, untouched, far-flung coastlines to charming traditional buckets and spade resorts, British seaside towns offer something for everyone.

“You may have your favorite coastal location, but this year's research shows that this summer, beyond the most famous resorts, is worth its unvisited hidden gems on every corner of the UK.”
