The Seychelles are certainly a dream vacation destination for many, but with high costs and rather long flights, holidaymakers may instead end up looking for a little closer to their home. One option is called Europe's own Seychelles, and is less than three hours on a direct flight.
Corsicary, a French island in the Mediterranean, offers beautiful coasts, magical beaches and cliff towns overlooking the glittering blue seas. A holiday Pirates travel expert wrote: “Corsica is a Mediterranean island and is a short two-hour flight from the UK. It is part of France, the best secrets of the Mediterranean, and has stunning beaches that belong to the Seychelles or somewhere in Fiji.”
This beautiful island has a stunning island, including what is considered to be one of the best in Europe.
Located on the southeastern Corsican coast, Plage de Palombaggia offers clear navy blue ure water and white sand in the Caribbean style. And this is not the only beach reminiscent of the Seychelles, but with other beaches such as the Plage des Santa Giulia, Plage dupeti Sperone and Plage des Rondinara.
Must-see cities and towns in Corsica include the medieval Clifffoottop Citadel, the laid-back seaside town of Rouse, and Bonifacio, featuring the island's capital, Ajaccio, the birthplace of French emperor Napoleon Bonaparte. Visitors to the city can even visit Maison Bonaparte, the home of his ancestors.
Corsica formed part of the Republic of Genoa from 1284 to 1755, and to this day Italian influences are seen throughout the island, with many residents speaking French, Italian and the native Corsican language of Corsic.
In 1755, the island left Genoa and became an independent republic until it was annexed by France in 1769, and has since been part of the country.

“I have to say that although we are far busier than the other beaches we visited in Corsica, it was still worth seeing the beach, just like the other beaches in the Caribbean.
A visitor to Maison Bonaparte wrote:
“It was good to walk in there and explain the history of the family. In that house, it was also farming, as you can see from the good dimensions of the olive oil lager that take up a significant portion of the first floor and discover its history and stories.”
A traveler to Bonifacio wrote: “What an incredible experience! Bonifacio is a fortress built in the 800s. I have never experienced anything so old or beautiful.
