Dominican emerging carrier Arajet has an agreement to lease up to eight of five more Boeing 737s during flights to the US.
Singapore-based lessor BOC Aviation said it purchased five up to 8 seconds from Boeing on February 24th and placed those aircraft on a long-term lease with Arajet.
Delivery will begin next year and will continue until 2027.
Victor Pascheco, founding chief executive of Arajet, said the next Max 8S will allow airlines to “continue to integrate fleet and regional footprints.”
The startup, launched in September 2022, has established a new air travel hub in Las America Suaport, Santo Domingo, expanding its network to North America.
The carrier made its 10th, up to eight deliveries in June 2024, adorning the jets with Dominican-themed colouring.
Fleet data from aerial analytics firm Cirium shows that Arajet still operates 10 narrow Boeing Jets and holds 23 more types of orders.
In addition to flights to Puerto Rico starting in June, Aradget is scheduled to begin flights between the Dominican Republic and Miami on April 11th.
Carrier says he will begin flights to New York this summer.
