The small airport, located in one of the UK's most picturesque cities, has been named “one of Europe's best” for the fifth year in a row. Scotland's Inverness Airport is crowned the best airport in Europe and serves less than 2 million passengers with the Airport Service Quality Award.
Airports Council International recorded passenger satisfaction from 400 airports around the world before naming the award winners. Not a major transport hub in Europe, but even after surpassing dozens of others across the continent to win awards. Located about 8 miles (13 km) east of Inverness city centre near the village of Dalcross, the airport offers both domestic and international flights, offering convenient gateways to Loch Ness, Isle of Skye and the North Coast 500.
Major airlines such as British Airways, EasyJet, Loganair and KLM operate from airports, connecting cities to other parts of the world.
Other winners in this category were Spanish airports, including El Hiero Airport, Girona Costa Brava Airport, Pamprona Airport, Reus Airport and Zaragoza Airport.
This marks the fifth consecutive victory at Inverness Airport.
Additionally, for the third year in a row, Inverness Airport has received an award for winning Europe's most dedicated staff.
“To be able to win these awards for the fifth consecutive year is an incredible achievement and a proud moment for everyone participating in Inverness Airport,” said Graeum Bell, general manager of Inverness Airport.
“Being recognized in our third year as the most dedicated staff in Europe is a testament to the diligence, passion and commitment of our entire team.”
