With the summer season approaching, British families are keeping an eye on the perfect holiday destination. Camping is a budget-friendly option and there are many options if you are considering a stay outdoors or have all the camping equipment but don't know where to go.

One campground that consistently attracts families each year is Shell Island in North Wales. 300 acres of Gwyned Site, a 450-acre camp-focused 350-acre Gwyned Site, is considered the UK's largest campsite, offering 800 pitches. Located within Snowdonia National Park, North Cardigan Bay's unique location attracts families from the whole family.

There are many activities like fishing, clubs, boating, and so some people visit for the day, but many choose to take a vacation there, especially during the summer months.

It is recommended to book online in advance as it can get you busy. The pitch is not pre-allocated and you can set up by roaming the camp wherever you like.

Whether you prefer to be next to the beach or not, there are various areas to camp, whether you listen to the waves or surrounded by waves near the facility. Many of the amenities are conveniently located in the heart of the island behind the leisure complex.

Camping enthusiasts steal peak summer rates from July to August at £13 per night, and only £6.50 for children aged 3-15, but often require a minimum stay during busy periods like bank holidays.

Those looking for more comofrt can choose from cozy beach chalets and apartments that can accommodate up to six people.

The site reviews paint pictures of an idyllic seaside holiday, leaving visitors with overwhelmingly positive comments.

One visitor raved about it on Facebook: “I haven't been there for many years. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

The second guest commented on the picturesque environment:

TripAdvisor has an impressive score of 3.9 out of 5, with one reviewer crowning “Camp Paradise” and praises many of the charms.

The Holiday Park offers more than just a sandy beach. Visitors can explore the dunes, dine at the harbor restaurant, grab a snack at the bar, or enjoy pints while watching the kids next to the children's playground from the Tavern Bar's outdoor area.

The nameless Shell Island is a paradise for shell collectors, where around 200 different shells are washed away on the beach, especially from January to June. To stay up to our latest events in Wales, sign up for our newsletter.

Dogs are welcome on Shell Island, but not allowed in certain areas such as snack bars and bar areas.

The site's toilet blocks are family friendly and feature spacious family units, baby baths, replacement units, and showers with changing areas and seating.

For those who want to refresh after spending a day at the beach, the ladies' shower has a large make-up/hair room with separate mirrors and plugs, and both women's and men's showers have two free hair dryers.

Young visitors are excited about the children's play park outside the bar and snack bar area. Neighbors have a game room filled with pool tables and other kids' activities.

Caravans are not permitted on the site, but campers and campers are welcome. The nearest station is llanbedr, a 30-minute walk.
