Nigerian career ValueJet announced plans to begin direct flight work from Lagos to Banjul, Gambia on May 15, 2025.

According to the airline, the new service will begin on Thursday, May 15th, 2025. Value Jet flights to Banjul depart Lagos by 9pm on Thursday and Sunday and arrive at 11:30pm.

The carrier will operate Lagos-Banjul flights from the new terminal at Murtala Muhammed International Airport. The new route marks a milestone in ValueJet's plan to expand within West Africa as it plans to expand to more destinations on the West Coast. Capt, Managing Director/Accountability Manager, ValueJet. Omololu Majekodunmi said the launch is a key milestone in ValueJet's vision to promote travel options and connectivity within West Africa.

“We are proud to help bridge the distance between people and businesses in Nigeria, the Gambia and beyond and promote close economic ties between initiating new opportunities for trade and tourism.”

According to Majekodunmi, the airline's vision is to make the continent more accessible and more choices. The new service is expected to boost regional trade, tourism and cultural exchanges between Nigeria and the Gambia.
