After record attendance of 123 travel agents and DMCs in the Harare spotlight, the Spotlight TravelExpo series heads for East Africa in August and September
On August 28, 2025, Spotlight Travelexpo Kampala promises to become another outstanding event on the regional travel trade calendar.
With 23 exhibitors already confirmed and expected 100 travel agents and the Uganda DMC to take part, the event is becoming a vibrant platform for corporate networking and trade development across the tourism value chain.
Kampala has a rapidly growing outbound travel market for both leisure and business travel.
Kenya recorded 225,000 Uganda arrivals in 2024 – a 27% increase
Zanzibar and Kenya Coast Resorts are extremely popular with Ugandans, while Dah and Nairobi are important destinations for Ugandan corporate travelers.
Spotlight Following Kampala, our next destination is the spotlight of Dar Es Salaam, the second most important commercial hub in East Africa's largest city (by population) and region.
Spotlight DAR is scheduled to be attended by more than 100 travel agents and DMCs at Johari Rotana on September 19th.
Most of the IATA travel agents are in DAR, which is an important reason why many of the exhibitors are hotels in the city centre of Africa.
Tanzania is becoming an important leisure and business travel market for exhibitors in southern Africa. Airlink and SAA fly to Da, while Tanzania serves Harare and Lusaka.
The Spotlight series, hosted by Houston Marketing, offers inbound and outbound tourism stakeholders an opportunity to connect new products, showcase new products, and strengthen travel trade ties in the region. ATTA members can reserve a table by clicking here.
Looking forward to 2026, Spotlight Nairobi will be held on February 11th and 12th, with Ghana's Accra scheduled to participate in the lineup in April 2026.
