The Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum will host annual flight outdoor aviation display innovations at the Stephen F. Udberhazy Center in Chantilly, Virginia, on Saturday, June 14th from 10am to 3pm. This year's event will mark the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II, with an expansion lineup of vintage military aircraft, including trainers, fighters and bombers from World War II, as well as a unified re-enactor.

From historic Warbirds to cutting-edge civil and commercial aircraft, more than 50 aircraft are expected to fly to the day's event, and will be displayed on the museum's outdoor grounds. Highlights include NOAA's WP-3D Orion “Hurricane Hunter”, A400m Atlas military transport, and a variety of general aviation aircraft. Pilots are on hand to interact with visitors, providing unusual opportunities to step into the cockpit and cabin and learn firsthand about aircraft design and innovation.
Within the museum, family-friendly programming was concentrated on American home fronts during World War II, and will be concentrated together as part of the Soar in the Air and Space series. Activities include demonstrations of Morse Code by the Smithsonian Ham Radio Club, interactive stem crafts such as flyable paper planes, swing dance, swing into live music, and meeting re-winners. Admission to the museum is free. However, you will need a pre-pass to access the outdoor aircraft display and can book on the museum's website on Monday, May 13th at 7pm.
