Seychelles President Wave Ramkarawang has officially launched the Ive Island Marine Fuel Supply Station in Praslin. Major infrastructure development aimed at strengthening marine transport and supporting the island's blue economy. The facility will enhance the fuel capacity of boat charter operators and fishing vessels operating across the inner islands, providing reliable logistics support for both the fishing sector and interisland marine services.
Fuel supply stations are part of a broader government effort to modernize maritime infrastructure, which is essential to economic sustainability. At launch, Minister of Fisheries and Blue Economy Jean François Ferrari emphasized the resilience of the project's sector and consistency with national goals for growth. As improved fuel access is expected to facilitate operational pressure on local marine operators, the new facility is poised to promote connectivity, trade and livelihoods between Praslin and the regions of nearby islands.
