The Seychelles have been elected to the Executive Council of the African Tourism Commission (CAF) for its term of office from 2025 to 2029, following the vote held at the 68th CAF conference held in Abuja, Nigeria on June 11-13. Foreign Minister Silvestle Radegondo and Tourism Director Sherryn Francis, Seychelles, will join Angola, Tunisia, Zimbabwe and Kenya to guide global tourism policies between the general assembly sessions.
This marks the fourth term of the Seychelles at the Executive Council and reflects ongoing leadership in sustainable tourism and regional cooperation. Membership provides island nations with the opportunity to influence policies on behalf of small island developing countries, while promoting inclusive growth and environmental conservation. Seychelles also received widespread support for the bid to host the 69th CAF Conference in 2026, further strengthening its active role in shaping the African tourism development agenda.
